Strattic offered a managed setup: your WordPress ran on its platform and it published a static copy to a CDN. After Elementor acquired Strattic, it announced that its static hosting would no longer be available from January 1, 2025, and pointed customers to its regular hosting. To get the same result today, you choose between another managed service — such as Shifter or Simply Static Studio — and a plugin that publishes from the WordPress hosting you already have, such as Pinery Static.

Managed service or plugin?
A managed service removes server work: the provider runs WordPress and publishes for you, and you pay every month. The trade-off is lock-in — Strattic showed what happens when a provider changes course and your site has to move on its timetable. With a plugin, WordPress stays on the hosting you already pay for and the static site lives in your own Cloudflare account. If you ever stop using Pinery Static, the last deployed site keeps running, because it is just files in your Pages project.
What it costs over three years
- Shifter Static Tier 1, billed annually: $384 a year, about $1,150 over three years.
- Simply Static Studio: $12 a month, $432 over three years, WordPress hosting included.
- Pinery Static Plus: $59.99 once ($299 for Pro with live WooCommerce), plus the WordPress hosting you already have. Cloudflare Pages’ free plan covers most static sites.
If you need nobody to run WordPress for you, the plugin route is the cheapest. If you have no WordPress hosting and do not want any, a managed service is simpler.
Moving a former Strattic site to Pinery Static
- Run WordPress on any PHP host — your existing one, or the hosting Elementor moved you to.
- Install Pinery Static, connect your Cloudflare account and export to a new Pages project.
- Check the result on its pages.dev address, including forms and comments (Pro).
- Switch your domain with the Pro Worker router, which also lets you roll back to WordPress in one click.
Which should you choose?
- Shifter — you want a fully managed WordPress and static stack and the price fits your budget.
- Simply Static Studio — you want a low monthly price with WordPress hosting included.
